Having ventured into the profession upon graduation in 2001, Architect Jos Conil has a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from residences and high rise apartments, mixed use and retail; hospitality; IT offices; Institutional and Master planning projects, over a period of 20 years.
In 2003, he joined Artech Group Trivandrum as Chief Architect , heading the Design wing and playing a major role in Artech's transformation into leading real estate developer in Kerala. He joined L&T Dubai as Senior Architect in 2008, in charge of big major residential projects. Following the global recession in 2009, he returned to India and worked in Bangalore, serving as a Team Leader at Ace Group Architects and Gayathri & Namith Architects. In 2014, he relocated to Trivandrum and worked with Habitat Technology Group, handling major IT office and master planning projects. In 2020, he launched a start-up Eco Concord Architecture, with residential and commercial projects in his city.
Jos is passionate about green architecture and is actively involved in R&D in sustainable building materials and technologies like Geopolymer concrete and engineered bamboo. Eco Concord Architectural and engineering consultancy for all project types as well as turnkey construction services.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
The production of Portland cement accounts for about 5% of global CO2 emissions. Cement is an inevitable component in modern building industry and concrete is the second most consumed material in the world after water. Therefore , the environmental footprint of concrete is enormous.
Geopolymer is a proven and promising sustainable to cement and it can drastically reduce the environmental footprint of the construction industry.
Architect Jos Conil is actively involved in Geopolymer research. He has designed a patent pending prefabricated shear wall structural system for which the use of geopolymer concrete is envisaged.

RECOGNITIONS
Conducted by the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain , the competition titled "Self Sufficient City - envisioning the habitat of the future" was an international on-line design competition open to architects, planners, designersand artists. There were 708 entries from 116 countries, from which 107 were shortlisted as finalists. The entry "A Vision for Trivandrum 2035 AD"; a futuristic design proposal for Trivandrum was one among the shortlisted projects.
“Team Techies” were awarded 2nd place in an online design competition conducted by ‘Malayala Manorama’ a leading Malayalam newspaper in 2016, inviting designs and proposals for future urban development of Kerala. The team had submitted a proposal for enhancing public transportation in Kerala, with a multi-modal integrated network made possible by digital mapping, smart cards and a transportation App.
