RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
The production of Portland cement accounts for about 5% of global CO2 emissions. Cement is an inevitable component in modern building industry and concrete is the second most consumed material in the world after water. Therefore , the environmental footprint of concrete is enormous.
Geopolymer is a proven and promising sustainable to cement and it can drastically reduce the environmental footprint of the construction industry.
Architect Jos Conil is actively involved in Geopolymer research. He has designed a patent pending prefabricated shear wall structural system for which the use of geopolymer concrete is envisaged.
